Terry Zavitz, B.Mus.A CFP CLU RHU EPC GBA President Zavitz Insurance Inc.  Terry Zavitz has been in the insurance industry for the last 26 years. After graduating with a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario, Terry started her career in 1983 with Paul Revere. Terry is now president of Zavitz Insurance Inc. Her practice encompasses life and group insurance but her true passion and expertise is in the area of Living Benefits. She now manages one of the larger blocks of disability insurance in Canada.Terry gives countless hours of her time to the community and is very active in her industry. She is involved with Advocis, where she is currently the Chair of the National Board of Directors. Terry is a member of CALU and is on the Advisory Committee for Munich Re. She has been an active volunteer with the Foundation at LHSC, a quaternary care hospital in London. She was Chair of the Foundation and also sat on the Board of the hospital. She has volunteered her time with London Community Foundation, Orchestra London, London Ski Club and Fanshawe Chorus London. Terry has published numerous industry articles on Living Benefits and has been invited to speak at many conferences and schools across Canada. Among her many accomplishments, in 2003, she was honoured with the Women of Distinction designation for Business and Trades through the London YMCA. She was also the recipient of Great West Life’s 2009 Hopwood award, honoring her dedication to her clients and her community. In her spare time, Terry successfully climbed to the Uhuru Peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro in December of 2005, to the top of Peru’s Machu Picchu in October of 2007 and to the top of Borneo’s Mount Kinabalu in June 2009. Terry has been married to Doug for the past 31 years and they have 3 wonderful grown children, one of whom has joined Terry at Zavitz Insurance Inc. |
