David Harris B.Comm, MBA, CMA, FICB, CD, CSC TEP President Harris Beattie MacLennan & Co. Limited  David Harris is the President of Harris Beattie MacLennan & Co. Limited, a Halifax-based tax consulting firm with clients from across Canada. In addition to his undergraduate and graduate degrees in business obtained from Dalhousie University, David holds professional designations in accounting, banking and consulting. He is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and has presented papers at the national conference of this organization. He has also been accredited by the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. David has been an instructor at the Canadian Tax Foundation’s annual Estate Planning Course, an intensive course designed to provide lawyers and accountants specializing in taxation with the most advanced estate planning information. David’s firm is a member of the Tax Specialist Group, Canada's largest independent tax consulting group. Prior to his work in consulting, David was employed with a multinational bank and taught at several American and Canadian universities in the faculties of Business, Law and Dentistry. David is a frequent lecturer in the areas of tax, estate planning and creditor protection. His articles have appeared in a number of professional journals. David has served on a number of boards, including Nova Scotia’s Central Regional Health Board, a public body with budgetary responsibility of $350 million. He recently completed a term as a Director of a publicly traded company (where he chaired the Audit and Compensation committees), and he is the Treasurer of the Liberal Party of Nova Scotia. |
